Black Pencil meets symphony orchestra! The brand new composition "CITYSCAPE SERENADE" by Rembrandt Frerichs for Black Pencil and AJSO (Almere Youth Symphony Orchestra).

Black Pencil receives structural support from the Fonds Podiumkunsten to intensify the activities in France in 2024 and 2025. This allows us to bring our music to new audiences and explore new partnerships and projects in the region.

Black Pencil is an innovative ensemble that creates new music for exciting new projects. Proud to announce that we have received structural support from the Fonds Podiumkunsten for commissioning composers in 2024 and 2025. 

The winner of the Black Pencil Prize 2023 is Ruud Roelofsen (1985-The Netherlands)  'Wraith II'.
