Composer Peter Vigh draws inspiration in his new composition 'Totaliter Aliter' from reports of near-death experiences and the book 'Eindeloos Bewustzijn' by Pim van Lommel. In the combination of the mysterious, colourful line-up of ensemble Black Pencil (recorder/pan flute/viola/accordion/percussion) and the young voices of the National Women's Youth Choir, he saw the ideal line-up to lift the veil of the afterlife.

Totaliter Aliter is a journey through a universe that is completely different, where space and time take on other dimensions. Fragments of experiences, the dark tunnel with light at the end, the bright white light, the soul that floats above its own body and also the frightening phases of a near-death experience flash by in this brand new work.

Vigh's premiere is stylishly framed by spiritual choral works by Hildegard von Bingen, the German mystic abbess who wrote visionary choral compositions in the twelfth century and who went down in history as the first female composer.
