Sit Fast is a concert series by Black Pencil, an international and versatile ensemble with a surprising instrumentation. The title of the series comes from a work by the Renaissance composer Christopher Tye (c. 1505-1572). "Sit Fast" means to "sit firm" and listen. At the end of Sit Fast, he wrote: "Sing true and fear not for I am true and fear not." One could not dream of a better motto for music performance!

In Baroque à la Folk, Black Pencil explores the fascinating connections between baroque music and the rich traditions of folk music from diverse cultures. A programme sparkling with virtuosity, emotion, and surprises.

In this special program, Dodó Kis intertwines classical compositions with traditional folk music from various regions of Hungary. The concert offers the audience a unique opportunity to experience the richness and diversity of Central European musical heritage, illuminated through the expressive voice of the recorder. The program includes works by Béla Bartók, Zoltán Kodály, Ádám Kondor, János Bali, and Dodó Kis.
