FAREWELL FUTURE WELCOME WORLD

February 27, 2026, 8:30 PM

BLACK PENCIL & LEINE ROEBANA

Before the performance, LeineRoebana invites its audience to meet the dancers, musicians, and choreographers for a special introduction on stage: half an hour before the start, the theatre doors open for the much-loved audience welcome! Unique experiences from the creative process and sources of inspiration are shared, and there is the opportunity to ask questions, while the dancers and musicians warm up and prepare for the performance. The show begins right after the audience welcome.

Following the overwhelming success of Ghost Track (2011) and LIGHT (2016), which set audiences ablaze in the Netherlands, Europe, and Indonesia, the dance-music company LeineRoebana now presents the third part of their Indonesia trilogy: Farewell Future Welcome World — this time in collaboration with the adventurous music ensemble Black Pencil.

BAROK À LA FOLK

April 24, 2026, 8:30 PM

A journey through folk music and baroque splendor.

Music knows no boundaries. In Baroque à la Folk, Black Pencil explores the surprising connections between baroque and folk music from different cultures. A program that sparkles with virtuosity, emotion, and unexpected twists. They celebrate how folk music not only inspired baroque composers but continues to move audiences today. Let yourself be carried away on this musical journey where traditions intertwine — at times raw and powerful, at others subtle, gentle, and pure.

The program features masterpieces by Georg Philipp Telemann, Jean Hotteterre, and Henry Purcell, alongside beautiful baroque traditionals from Ireland and Scandinavia, and Old Slavic folk songs. Each work receives the distinctive Black Pencil touch: a playful fusion of traditional instruments and inventive arrangements.

Note: On this date, Black Pencil was originally scheduled to perform Sunflower. For organizational reasons, this has been changed to Baroque à la Folk. If you have already purchased tickets for Sunflower, they remain valid for Baroque à la Folk. More information is available via Kunstlinie.
